Class 8 - WC 11/09/17

We’ve had another fun week in class 8, with a trip to McDonalds, for green week rewards, and a trip to the park. Katie-Mae and Imani were rewarded with a horse riding trip and Tyler represented the class at Elm Tree Court. We also welcomed back Jenson, who has returned to Ellar Carr after some time off. Despite this, we still managed to fit some work in.

In English, we continued out Flat Stanley theme, looking at different sentence types and particularly how to compose different questions. We also used our new POW books to write some very interesting stories about a boy who had lost his ticket to the big match.

In maths we looked at mental addition as well as adding whole numbers and decimals in columns. Everyone produced some excellent work, especially in our maths investigation, where pupils had to arrange coins in the correct order by following some very specific rules.

We continued with our Flat Stanley theme in art, with pupils (and staff) creating some excellent pictures of Stanley himself. We started our new Jamie Oliver cooking scheme, with this week’s focus on scrambled eggs.

Congratulations to Tyler and Katie-Mae who both achieved ‘green weeks’, earning a £5 voucher each, as well as sharing the ‘most points’ award. Katie-Mae also won the ‘student of the week’ award for an excellent attitude all week.
