Class 1 - WC 02/10/17

In Citizenship this week the students were given a variety of scenarios. A group discussion followed on whether the police were abusing their rights for each of the scenarios. This was a really interesting lesson as all students had their own opinion and were able to air their views respectfully.

“A man aged 60 was shouting down the road to two young boys, “Stop them! They’ve stolen my TV and CD player’. The boys, carrying a CD player and a TV, kept running down the road. They bumped into two police officers who asked them to stop.” We all agreed that the police were in the right in this scenario.

One student stated ...“If it says divide you have to times? This doesn’t make sense!”  It was then explained as we looked at adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing fractions in Maths!

E.g. 1/8 divide 1/4 = 1/8 x 4/1 = 4/8 = 1/2

It sounds a lot but the students enjoyed the challenge of completing all their work, can you complete the challenge too?

Congratulations to Aaron who received the most point’s certificate.

Well done to Sarah for having an excellent week, completing all her work and receiving the student of the week certificate.
