Class 5 WC 01/05/17

It has been a busy couple of weeks for Class 5 since returning from the Easter Holidays. With exams just round the corner, revision and exam practise have been the main focus. All of Class 5 have responded really well to the increased workload and are doing all they can to make sure they are fully prepared for their exams.

On Wednesday, it was time for the students to display all the cooking skills they had developed over the year. The cooking room was taken over by Class 5 for nearly the whole day so they could complete their BTEC Level 2 Award in Home Cooking Skills. The task was simple, independently prepare and cook a two course meal. The students had decided the previous week they would make stuffed peppers for a starter and spaghetti bolognaise for the main. The students were assessed on the different skills they used and how safely they worked. As the pictures below show, the results were fantastic and are a reflection of the hard work the students put in to what was a very challenging task.

Well done to Jake who earned most points this week and Lewis who was awarded Class 5 Student of the Week Award.
