Class 6 - WC 06/02/17

As part of our celebrations for Chinese New Year we made a stir fry. We all chopped up variety of vegetables and added chicken sweetcorn. It was delicious. Demie added paprika and black pepper. She gained the star baker award for not only to look of her dish but for the taste too.

In maths we have been looking at converting units. It was tricky at first but with lots of concentration and hard work we were able to use multiplication and division to solve each conversion.

This week in English we have been looking at the Chinese story about Nian and how from the story, traditions have developed. We learnt about the importance of the colour Red and why fire crackers are used to help celebrate Chinese New Year.

We had a slight change to our tennis in PE. We played football tennis. It was the first time we played it and it was so much fun. Mckenzie was really good at it as was Josh. I definitely think it will be a game they want to play again.

We welcomed a new student in class 6. Ariz earned the ‘Student of the week’ award for his mature attitude and completing all his work. He also earned the most points this week. Well done Ariz for such a positive first week.
