The Management Committee of Ellar Carr School is seeking to appoint an exceptional leader for the post of Headteacher from September 2018.  Ellar Carr School is a 90 (70 on site, 20 placed at Independent Schools) place school catering for students with significant social, emotional and mental health difficulties needs (SEMH).  

Following the successful Ofsted inspection in November 2016 the Headteacher has decided to seek a new role from January 2018.  She had dedicated six years of outstanding service to Ellar Carr taking the school out of Requires Improvement and ensuring an exceptional quality of education for some of our most vulnerable students.  The next challenge for the successful candidate would be to take our school on the journey from Good to Outstanding.  We are seeking a dynamic, creative and experienced leader who has demonstrated the ability to support the positive climate of the school, making changes to the environment where necessary, while creating a healthy culture for pupils to learn in and staff to work in.

You will have empathy and aspiration for vulnerable young students and a commitment to raising their standards of attainment and achievements. Successful evidence of this is a prerequisite for this post.
