Class 3 - WC 07.01.2019

In Class 3 this week we have been really busy starting all of our new projects.
In English we have been looking at 19th Century texts and how they differ from more modern texts. We looked at the language and layout and discussed the differences. We looked at famous characters in some of the great literary works of the 19th century.
In Maths this week we have been working on volume. The pupils used the formula to correctly calculate the volume of cuboids. This proved a little tricky for some of the pupils at first but by the end of the week all of them had made some great progress.
Cooking was really great as the pupils were really excited about making cookies. Each pupil decided how to decorate their cookies and what they wanted to bake in them. They all turned out really well and the pupils were proud of their baking.
It was the last week at Guiseley FC for the football training so the class had a great last session practising the coaching tactics and techniques that they learned.
We are looking forward to looking at different types of texts next week and learning about calculations with time and money.
Have a great weekend from everyone in Class 3.
