Class 3 - WC 21.01.2019

Class 3 have had a really great week and the students have been working really hard.

In both Maths and English this week we have been taking our Functional Skills mock exams. This provides a really great opportunity for the students to practice for their May exams. It also allows the students and teacher to look at what needs to be improved and practised to ensure the students have the best opportunity of passing the exams.

Some of our Year 11 students have been to Bradford College this week to have a taster session to learn what it would be like to study motor vehicle qualifications at Bradford College. They had a great time and had the opportunity to change a tyre, change spark plugs and fixed part of a wheel. The tutor said that the students were a credit to our school (which we already knew).

Science was a little bit squeamish this week as we were looking at pictures of laser eye surgery and investigating how this works. The pupils now understand that the surgery is a permanent cure, yet glasses and contacts lenses only treat the symptoms of poor sight, and only when they are being used.

We are looking forward to a hard earned weekend and being refreshed and ready to learn next week.

Have a great weekend from all in Class 3.
